(August 13, 2024, 2:27 PM EDT) -- SAN FRANCISCO — A spokesman for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Aug. 12 told Mealey Publications that the agency is considering its response to a letter it received from the U.S. Air Force calling for the EPA to withdraw an order the agency issued directing it to submit a water treatment plan pursuant to the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA) for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) at the Tucson International Airport Area Superfund Site (TIAASS) on grounds the order cannot withstand review in light of the U.S. Supreme Court decision that abrogated the Chevron doctrine....
