Mealey's (December 21, 2022, 11:54 AM EST) -- PASADENA, Calif. — A Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals panel affirmed in part the confirmation of an arbitral award worth more than $21 million in favor of a California haymaker and its Samoan affiliate, but reversed the district court’s decision to vacate a $7 million “windfall” from its judgment, writing that despite “serious concerns about whether the arbitration award was correct” the full award must be confirmed due to “the stringent deference we owe to arbitration awards.”...
