Mealey's (October 18, 2022, 2:25 PM EDT) -- TRENTON, N.J. — A New Jersey municipality on Oct. 17 moved in New Jersey federal court to intervene in a per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) groundwater contamination case, seeking remand to state court of one count of the complaint and seeking to disqualify an outside law firm that was hired to represent the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) on the ground that it was improperly admitted to the litigation “to partake in an unlawful contingency fee scheme.”...
