FTC:  Accurate Press Release Not Basis For PPE Seller To Void Stipulated Order

Mealey's (August 25, 2022, 10:25 AM EDT) -- TOLEDO, Ohio — The federal government on Aug. 22 filed its opposition to a motion for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction sought by a personal protective equipment (PPE) seller and its chief executive officer to require the Federal Trade Commission to revise a press release describing its case against the seller and to allow the seller to withdraw its consent to a stipulated order for permanent injunction, monetary relief and civil penalty for allegedly improperly labeling imported PPE as “Made in USA” and superior to foreign-manufactured PPE, telling a federal court in Ohio that the defendants had not shown they were entitled to extraordinary relief or had a legally sufficient basis to withdraw their consent....
