Veteran Sues Manufacturers, Says They Knew PFAS Were ‘Extreme Biohazard’

(August 24, 2022, 8:23 AM EDT) -- CHARLESTON, S.C. — A veteran who contends that he was poisoned by exposure to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the firefighting agent known as aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) on Aug. 17 sued 3M Co. and other chemical companies in South Carolina federal court, contending that the defendants knew that PFAS constitute “an extreme biohazard” yet fraudulently concealed the danger from the public....
