LOUIS — An insurer on Aug. 11 filed a petition asking the Eighth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to reconsider its ruling that an insurance policy’s “ordinance or law” endorsement covers the costs of replacing the roof on the insured’s shopping mall that was damaged by a tornado, arguing that the panel’s “curt disagreement” with the lower court’s holding that the insured failed to meet its burden to demonstrate that the tornado was the but-for cause of a county code enforcement “lacks analysis of the undisputed facts.”...
