Mealey's ( June 18, 2015, 11:39 AM EDT) -- PIERRE, S.D. — The Supreme Court of South Dakota on May 6 reversed and remanded a lower court’s ruling, concluding that South Dakota Board of Minerals and Environment failed to comply with state law pertaining to pooling orders when it forced a mineral rights holder to participate in a compulsory pool that allowed a company to drill for oil using horizontal hydraulic fracturing (In The Matter of the Petition of Luff Exploration Company, No. 27147, S.D.
